Western Howard County Cruise

Great day ride out to Western Howard County

Amanda from Amandabandoned and I decided to go on a cruise out to Western Howard County on a beautiful late summer day. I had just done a couple of rides at this point, so I was looking forward to my first longer ride.

We drew up a route that took us to Main Street in Historic Ellicott City, where we’d stop and walk the Main Street and grab some ice cream at Moorenko’s.

We took a very twisty backroad route up to Ellicott City, where we enjoyed the scenic route before stopping in Main Street. We found some parking at the northern end of Main Street, and walked down to the bridge at the southern end for ice cream.

It was delicious, and we walked back up towards the bikes, where we sat down and finished our ice cream then hopped back on the bikes to head out towards Dayton.

It was an amazing ride out to Dayton, and to the Big Bend Reservoir where we’d stop and take a break. The roads are beautiful wide sweeping forested roads out through semi-rural neighborhoods.

Once we grabbed some fun photos by the reservoir, we headed out to get back home. I had a little trouble with Rever, which was the motorcycling routing and navigation app I was trying out for the first time. Most of my issues I think were user error, so I learned how the app likes to be used
