2008 Ford Mustang GT California Special

Now this here is my baby Cali. I love this car! It’s a 2008 Ford Mustang GT California Special. It’s equipped with the 4.6 liter V8, coupled to a 5 speed Tremec manual transmission. And every part of that is awesome! This car rips, and sounds amazing doing it with the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system.

It’s not the off-road adventurer like the Tundra or Jeep, but it’s an adventurer in it’s own right! I’ve driven all over the east coast and into Appalachia with this, and it eats up highway miles and twisty mountain roads!

This is more than just a car to me. I’ve always wanted a Mustang, and I got my first one right after graduating college. I got my first job, and after things didn’t work out, I had to sell it. It broke my heart. I went through a rough patch between jobs, and after I settled down and got a good job here in MD, I wanted to get back into a Mustang. But I waited until I felt secure enough in my situation that I could get it and keep it this time.

Once I reached that point in April of 2011, I started searching, and found this beauty in New Jersey. Bringing it home, and seeing it in my parking spot, I felt like I had reached the spot in my life where I had put myself back together, made myself whole again, and I once again had an enthusiast car.

We’ve stumbled across some minor rough patches, and especially after having 2 kids, I’ve questioned whether or not I should keep her or not. Every time, I make the emotion based decision to keep it. I just love it, and while it may be the logical decision to let it go, I can’t, and every time I take her out, I fall in love all over again. I think this one will be in my stable for a long time!
